“TICS ANNA ROSA TARANTINO”
6th Annual Festival of Social and Civic Engagement Theater
Bitonto, T. Traetta Municipal Theater
The Theater Festival for Civil and Social Engagement (TICS), sponsored by the City of Bitonto in collaboration with Puglia Culture and organized by Teatrermitage, with the support of Avviso Pubblico and Libera, is a theater project aimed at middle and high school students in the city.
Named in memory of Anna Rosa Tarantino of Bitonto, an innocent victim of crime, and serving as a tangible symbol of remembrance and of young people’s commitment to change, the initiative aims to foster greater awareness among the younger generations of social and civic issues such as the rule of law and peace, the social anti-Mafia movement, the elimination of all forms of violence and bullying, discrimination of any kind, the welcoming of migrants, etc., in the recognition that theater, through its social function, serves as an effective tool for fostering a new civic consciousness.
This sixth edition, which will take place between February and April in the mornings at the Teatro Comunale Traetta, will feature national theater companies presenting five productions focused on various themes, for a total of seven performances. In addition to the theatrical performances, “In-Depth Forums” are scheduled to offer young audiences further opportunities for learning and reflection.
At the conclusion of each performance, in fact, the audience will have the opportunity to engage in dialogue with various guests, including artists, authors, institutional representatives, experts, and witnesses.
